Keeping The Main Thing, The Main Thing
If there’s one thing that I’m really struggling with and holding back real success, that’s my inability to stay focus for a long period of time. I suck on this really. Yeah, I know how important it is. I realized also that this is one factor that I did not do well in school. Who would want to listen for an hour on subject that you’re not interested anyway?(good alibi for those failing marks eh?):)
As I drop to Papa Johns Pizza Restaurant, I noticed their “Core Values” posted in one side of the wall. One phrase that kicked me to get back to my senses is “Focus: We must keep The Main Thing, The Main Thing….”
Are you having the same problem as I do?

I used to have this problem, now it’s better. Being in a management position where I have to work on 100 different things during the day, being interrupted by calls and visitors, I realized I do almost nothing IMPORTANT. So I started with Time Management, and it helped me greatly. If you can organize your time, you can allocate “single task time spans” and focus on just that tasks, putting everything aside. I’ve built my time management approach around GTD.
Another good hint is “work off clean desk”. Less things you have distracting you visually the better.

Hi Sleeping Dude. What’s GTD?
